Festival in Cuenca
We have just returned from a wonderful weekend of concerts in Cuenca. What a beautiful part of the world. Thank you to John Whibley (www.whibley.co.uk) for hosting such a marvellous festival.
Church Classics Tour
Just back from a fantastic week in Ireland. We performed quintets with the amazing Sarah Beaty, giving the Irish premiere of the wonderful uplifting “Gumboots” by David Bruce and also bringing Golijov’s mesmerising “Dreams and prayers of Isaac the blind” to new audiences in the west of Ireland. It was truly inspiring to play this music in these beautiful churches to such warm and receptive audiences.
Chateau de Flawinne
Just back from a wonderful weekend performing at the Chateau de Flawinne… Also returned to the Muziekgebouw Fritz Philips in Eindhoven for a recital on Sunday afternoon. Now busy preparing for a week of school workshops in County Cork!
Ina Boyle String Quartet
Tune in to Lyric FM this morning at 11am to hear us performing Ina Boyle’s String Quartet. This is a live concert recorded last month at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin.
Discovering the work of Irish composer Ina Boyle
We are very excited to be working on a little known quartet by the late Irish composer Ina Boyle. This piece, her only string quartet, was performed only once in her lifetime so it is a great honour to be involved in these concerts sharing her music with Irish audiences on the 4th, 5th and 6th of February.
New exciting collaboration ~
We have started rehearsing exciting new works by Ian Wilson with Mohammed Assani, the wonderful sitarist and tabla player!
Callino perform up North
Callino Quartet gave a recital in Darlington on the 17th April replacing the Vertavo Quartet at short notice.
